Mr Moore said he thought the Scottish government would hold an "advisory referendum".
This would be followed by a second referendum on what had been sorted out between the governments, Mr Moore said.
But his words were dismissed as "nonsense" by SNP first minister Alex Salmond who wants a single referendum.

Piece of news summary:

Lewis Hamilton described his victorious Chinese grand prix as 'one of the best races I've experienced'.
There are inherent flaws with Formula One as a sporting spectacle. Its complex rules are constantly tinkered with, just as mechanics meddle with their cars on a daily basis, and when it comes off critics say it is a contrivance.
Hamilton felt a sense of relief just to start the race with only 30 seconds to spare. His flooded engine would not start and with just a few minutes to go his mechanics had to take it apart to remove the fuel.

The Circle

Every year there are more people in the world.
If more people, it is because a baby is born.
If a baby is born, there will be more children.
If more children, there are more boys and girls.
If there are more boys and girls, there will be more teens.
If more teenagers, more people more.
And if there are more older people, they probably die and more babies being born again ....

Reading a Calendar

Note that the months and days of the week are always capitalised. If you don't want to write the whole words, you can use the abbreviations. In British English, abbreviations are usually written without full stops (Apr), full stops are normal, however, in American English (Apr.).

Months are abbreviated as follows:

Month Abbreviation Month Abbreviation
January Jan July -
February Feb August Aug
March Mar September Sept
April Apr October Oct
May - November Nov
June - December Dec

How to tell the time

Explanation

There are two common ways of telling the time.

Formal but easier way

Say the hours first and then the minutes.

Example: 7:45 -It's quarter to eight

For minutes 01 through 09, you can pronounce the '0' as oh.

Example: 11:06 - eleven (oh) six

More popular way

Say the minutes first and then the hours. Use past and the preceding hour for minutes 01 through 30. Use to and the forthcoming hour for minutes 31 through 59, but .

Example: 7.15 - fifteen minutes past seven
Example: 7.45 - fifteen minutes to eight

Another possibility of saying '15 minutes past' is: a quarter past
Another possibility of saying '15 minutes to' is: a quarter to
Another possibility of saying '30 minutes past' is: half past

Example: 5:30 - half past five

Watch

Note

Use o'clock only at the full hour.

Example: 7:00 - seven o'clock (but 7:10 - ten past seven)

For times around midnight or midday you can use the expressions midnight or midday / noon instead of the number 12.

Beispiel: 00:00 - midnight
Beispiel: 12:00 - midday or noon

It is not usual to use a.m. and p.m. with past/to.
Example: 3:15 - fifteen minutes past three OR a quarter past three

American English

Beside past Americans often use after.

Example: 06:10 - ten past/after six

But: in time expressions with half past it is not usual to replace past by after.

Beside to Americans often use before, of or till.

Example: 05:50 - ten to/before/of/till six

What are friends for?

What are friends for?
Friends are who we trust.
They help us, they love us
Time and time over
They are to be nice in:
How could we live without them?
Poem based on Philip Larkin's poem "Days"

What is home for?

What is home for?
Home is where we relax.
We are happy with it
Time and time over
It is to be with your family:
Where can we relax but home?
Poem based on Philip Larkin's poem "Days"

How to write numbers in English

Say the rules including examples:

This is the list between zero to twenty.

1 - One    11 - Eleven
2 - Two    12 - Twelve
3 - Three  13 - Thirteen
4 - Four   14 - Fourteen
5 - Five   15 - Fifteen
6 - Six    16 - Sixteen
7 - Seven  17 - Seventeen
8 - Eight  18 - Eighteen
9 - Nine   19 - Nineteen
10- Ten    20 - Twenty

If a number is in the range 21 to 99, and the second digit is not zero, one should write the number as two words separated by a hyphen.

21 - twenty-one        64 - Sixty-four
25 - twenty-five       79 - seventy-nine
32 - thirty-two        83 - eighty-three
58 - fifty-eight       99 - ninety-nine

In English, the hundreds are regular, except that the word hundred remains in its singular form.

100 - one hundred
200 - two hundred
900 - nine hundred

So too are the thousands, with the number of thousands followed by the word "thousand"

1000 - One thousand
21000 - Twenty-one thousand
1000000 - One million

Oxford

Oxford is a busy city. It's got a Famous University and many colleges. It has bridges, museums and libraries.
In my opinion, one of the good things about Oxford is that beautiful and old. There are a lot of shops, bars, restaurants, concerts and films.

There are some bad things, for example: There are a lots of people in a small city, Oxford is a pretty city and is very busy with students and tourists. Things are very expensive.
In general, I like Oxford. It's a good place for a lots of things to see and do.

My favourite cartoon

I've always loved cartoons. I saw them when I was little and now I'm watching them with my sister.
My favorites are still Doraemon and The Simpsons.
My parents tell me when I was about six years I liked to imitate The Flintstones: Yabba-dabba do! "
But the cartoon series that I like is The Simpsons.
The Simpson family is a special family. A son (Bart) who just wants to create problems, one daughter (Lisa) with serious emotional problems, a wife (Marge) with a blue mane and for many problems to give the family never gets angry. And a husband ... sunset (Homer): lazy, uneducated and alcoholic. The only one who seems to save the little Maggie. But the truth is that, deep down, want.

Simple Plan - Perfect

Hey dad look at me
Think back and talk to me
Did I grow up according to plan?
And do you think I'm wating my time doing things I wanna do?
But it hurts when you disapprove all along

And now I try hard to make it
I just want to make you proud
I'm never gonna be good enough for you
I can't pretend that
I'm alright
And you can't change me

'Cuz we lost it all
Nothing last forever
I'm sorry
I can't be perfect
Now it's just too late and
We can't go back
I'm sorry
I can't be perfect

I try not to think
About the pain I feel inside
Did you know you used to be my hero?
All the days you spent with me
Now seem so far away
And it feels like you don't care anymore

And now I try hard to make it
I just want to make you proud
I'm never gonna be good enough for you
I can't stand another fight
And nothing's alright

'Cuz we lost it all
Nothing last forever
I'm sorry
I can't be perfect
Now it's just too late and
We can't go back
I'm sorry
I can't be perfect

Nothing's gonna change the things that you said
Nothing's gonna make this right again
Please don't turn your back
I can't believe it's hard
Just to talk to you
But you don't understand

Res canviarà les coses que tu em vas dir
i res farà que em sentí millor
Si us plau no me donis l'esquena
No puc creure que sigui tan díficil
Només parlar amb tu
Però tú no ho entens

'Cuz we lost it all
Nothing last forever
I'm sorry
I can't be perfect
Now it's just too late and
We can't go back
I'm sorry
I can't be perfect

'Cuz we lost it all
Nothing last forever
I'm sorry
I can't be perfect
Now it's just too late and
We can't go back
I'm sorry
I can't be perfect
